Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT CAN I EXPECT ON MY FIRST VISIT?
The evaluation will be performed on the first visit. The evaluation will consist of a written and verbal interview regarding medical history, objective measurements pertinent to signs and symptoms, full body mapping and discussion of treatment plan and goals. The evaluation usually lasts 60-75 minutes.

WHAT IS MAPPING?
Mapping is a diagnostic technique used to determine what parts of the body have dysfunction on the physical plane. It will give important information on what systems of the body, parts of the spine, a joint or cranium, etc. are involved. The IMT therapist has been trained to feel normal and abnormal movements or motilities of the body with their hands. Where there is aberrant movement is where dysfunction is located This technique helps to determine your treatment plan and goals.

WHAT DO I WEAR FOR THE EVALUATION AND SUBSEQUENT TREATMENTS?
Wear clothes that are comfortable and loose fitting. All treatments will be performed over the clothes.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS CAN I EXPECT TO BE SEEN FOR?
This all depends on how much of the body is involved, the severity and length of time of symptoms and your goals.

WILL MY INSURANCE PAY FOR TREATMENT?
Treatment can be billed as physical therapy. Blue Star Therapeutics is a provider for Medicare and Tri-Care insurance. We also have contracts with several networks that may include your insurance company. We also take auto and workman’s compensation clients. Please call to inquire about your insurance plan.

HOW LONG DO THE TREATMENTS LAST?
Most treatments are for 1-2 hours based on your preference and insurance coverage. Multiple hours can be scheduled.
